“I started my creative career as a graffiti writer and was priveleged enough to work with the likes of Banksy, Revok & Aroe MSK. I then moved into fashion and worked as a graphics and branding designer for Airwalk, Boxfresh and Diesel before setting up my own studio in 2008.’

 

How long have you been a Freelancer for?
I’ve been independent since 2008.

Describe your work in one sentence.
If you can’t convince them, confuse them.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learnt in your line of work?
Always listen to the client.


What attracted you to your chosen field?
Process of elimination - I’m pretty much rubbish at everything else.

Tell us about your best project to date.
Working with the artist Jonathan Yeo on a 3D optical illusion installation for the Lazarides group show - The Devil’s Half Acre.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
The fact that I’m not classically trained and learnt most of what I know from my early graffiti years and time spent working hands on in various design industries.


If you could work on any project for any company/organisation, what would it be and who would it be for?
My dream job would be to work on the set design of any Stanley Kubrick film - but I’d need a time machine first!

What frustrates you the most about your job?
Nothing.

What pearl of wisdom can you offer to someone thinking about starting out as a freelancer?
Think long term. Make a 3-5 year plan and no matter what happens keep calm and carry on.

If you could have ONE super power, what would it be?
No never need to sleep.


What’s your favourite bit of kit?
My 27" Imac

My first word was ‘Pub’

What’s your favourite song of all time?
Very tough... but if you force me it would have to be ‘Tonight’ by Kleer

What is your favourite app?
