About me

Marta Kochanek is a multi - award Commercial and Advertising Photographer and Film Maker. Her creative talents were firstly expressed in the form of human - sized sculptures as well as small and very detailed designs of perfume bottles she precisely shaped with a scalpel in her hand. It is where Marta's attention to detail developed. She has experience of working to deadlines and that is one of challenges that make the work satisfying to her. Marta covers photography and film making assignments for clients directly or through advertising agencies across the UK and abroad.

Photography has become a medium that let Marta express her analytical observations. Her never-ending fascination of people creates a field that she can fill with thoughtful and eye-catching light. She is annoyingly pedantic and brutally concentrated while she works to achieve her goals. Marta is extremely competitive but not in a rude way!

She is positive and friendly and understands the need and power of network. Marta strongly believes in 'I can' attitude and treats her life as one-way ticket journey where there is no room for a waste of time and opportunities. She is open-minded and learns fast.

During her continuing career, Marta was offered the opportunity to spearhead a large, independent archival project for Annie Leibovitz in New York in 2011. She then joined the Production Team where she learned from the best on how to plan and successfully organize shoots that involve appearance of celebrities, politicians and VIPs. Marta also had the opportunity to assist Ms. Leibovitz on sets for shoots for American Vogue and Vanity Fair.

Marta's personal projects as well as photographs she took for her clients have been shown several times in both group and solo exhibitions, including Mall Galleries in London, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, the MAC - Birmingham, as well as Verge Art Brooklyn and Leslie & Lohman Museum in New York. In 2012 and 2015 Marta was invited to join the Daegu Biennial in South Korea. In August 2016 her Cognitive Bodies series won her an entrance to Berlin Photo Biennale.

Her work has appeared in numerous publications, national and international professionals honorably mentioned her works through the most important and prestigious photographic competitions like: Association of Photographers Awards, Px3 Paris, International Aperture Awards, (IPA) International Photography Awards, as well as Art Kudos. Marta was awarded with Art Grants in 2012, 2013 and 2014 to deliver photography projects.

Apart from delivering award - winning photography work for national clients and advertising agencies she also work freelance as a Photo Producer, Film Maker and DOP (Director of Photography).
