Despite the relative maturity of the concept of smart cities – a term for which definitions have existed for around 10 years – new research has revealed that only 23% of people have heard of them.
Posterscope’s OOH consumer survey the Smart in the City report consulted more than 5,500 consumers about their opinions on smart cities and their key features.
It found that, despite the many initiatives already in place, less than a quarter of UK consumers claim to be aware of what they actually are.
