New for 2016, British Collection will be located in the barrel roofed Crypt on Clerkenwell Green, of St James’s Church. Some of the UK’s most exciting homegrown talent will showcase their latest furniture, lighting and product designs within this unique space.

Giles Miller Studio Installation

*

Giles Miller Studio has been invited to create a series of installations for London’s Clerkenwell Design Week 2016, to lead visitors around the events and showrooms of the festival.Working with the concept of ‘wayfinding’, Giles Miller Studio has produced a series of large scale abstract signage sculptures. Square glass tiles have been composed to create a centralised ‘swoosh’, featured in each sculpture, designed to subtly evoke the movement of visitors to the next festival destination.

Featured at the Zaha Hadid Design Gallery is The Seamless Collection, which was Zaha Hadid’s exploration into a new language of design and architecture; fusing complex curvilinear geometries with detailed ergonomic research.

Innovative Office Design at Airbnb

Airbnb will host a talk moderated by Johnny Tucker, Editor of Blueprint, together with Aaron Taylor Harvey and Rachael Yu of the Airbnb Environments Team, and Jack Hosea and Matt Driscoll of ThreeFold Architects. The lively conversation will explore the theme of how to maintain a brand environment whilst evoking a unique local identity.

Celebrating their fifteenth year, Modus will launch new ranges to the UK with a distinctly domestic feel to a new sofa by Simon Pengelly, table by Sir Kenneth Grange and SmithMatthias and cork tables and stools by Michael Sodeau. Conversely, the new table by Jonathan Prestwich, PearsonLloyd’s Edge range and Michael Sodeau’s meeting chair are more workplace focused. The Everyday chair by Claesson Koivisto Rune falls neatly into both camps.
