Elon Musk sends a Dragon to Mars

This week, SpaceX, the aerospace manufacturer founded by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, announced its plans to send unmanned Dragon spacecrafts to Mars by 2018. These initial missions will reportedly inform them of the architecture on the red planet, and will serve as the first test flight for the Dragon 2 spacecraft the company will eventually use. The ship will utilise the recently tested SuperDraco propulsive landing system, which is a key component in helping the the ship land safely. This mission
