Omnicom advocate another new acquisition

The DAS Group (Diversified Agency Services), the Omnicom owned global group of marketing services companies, announced recently that it had acquired the Washington DC-based firm DDC Advocacy. Omnicom's latest acquisition is a full-service public affairs and issue advocacy firm that conducts advocacy campaigns from major corporations, trade associations, business coalitions and nonprofit organisations. The firm, which will be offering its services across the Omnicom network effective immediately, is a major player in technology-based, fully integrated public affairs and grassroots communications.

The acquisition means that the entire Omnicom network will have access to DDC's proprietary CRM platform, Democracy Direct, which uses data-driven insights to conduct campaign-style advocacy programs that help clients achieve business and policy goals. It is another big win for the Omnicom group, which reached a new 52-week high during mid-day trading yesterday on the stock exchange, with stock traded as high as $78.49 and last traded at $78.07, with a volume of 320,445 shares.

According to the firm's website, DDC specialise in several key areas: “Integrated campaign-style services, including paid and earned media, experiential events, and constituent outreach through field operatives and its advocacy centres; strategic planning and media buying; market research, including audience modelling and micro targeting, geospatial social media, and database cluster/mapping analyses; and SaaS (Software as a Service)-based CRM and marketing automation platforms, including hosted websites and database management for political action committees (PACs).”

DAS Group chairman and CEO, Dale Adams, said “DDC Advocacy is a data-driven consulting company that knows how to use highly relevant data for targeting and campaign activation.” He believes “This acquisition is consistent with Omnicom's overarching strategy to leverage data and insights to achieve the best possible outcomes” for clients and their brands. On the other side of the acquisition, DDC Advocacy CEO, founding partner and chairman, B.R McConnon, said that the move gives them a “Huge opportunity” to take their “New model of public affairs solutions to other partner agencies across the networks.” He hopes that teaming up with DAS and Omnicom will help their team “Expedite DDC Advocacy's expansion and continued innovation in the public affairs market and beyond.”

Omnicom's board of directors recently declared a quarterly dividend of 50 cents per outstanding share of the corporation's common stock

In related news, The Omnicom Group's board of directors recently declared a quarterly dividend of 50 cents per outstanding share of the corporation's common stock. The dividend is payable on January 7, 2015 to Omnicom Group common shareholders of record at the close of business on December 23, 2014.
