Nice Biscuits Bolsters Business with Brand New Animation Studio

Published by

Nice Biscuits has continued its 2016 expansion plans by strengthening its animation offering with a merger between its London HQ and Lumiere Studios new Essex-based CG studio. After working closely together for the past two years, Lumiere are set to become Nice Biscuits’ permanent in-house CG team, with their 15-seat CG studio in Chelmsford forming Nice Biscuits’ secondary hub. The new partnership will offer a full animation design and production studio, specialising in 3D animation, 2D animation, Fluid Simulation, Character Animation, Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. The animation studio itself will house a team of talented and versatile artistes who will combine their skills to offer exceptional broadcast quality animation for a wide variety of well-respected clients and brands. Following the signing of Carl Grinter to a new production and business development role, and the teams’ relocation to a brand new office in Fitzrovia, Nice Biscuits is continuing to pursue its bold growth plans for 2017.

Commenting on this expansion, Russ Shaw, Owner of Nice Biscuits, said: “We are all extremely excited about this expansion and it’s certainly a game changer for us. Over the years we’ve been unsuccessful in winning some projects simply because we’ve been rightly perceived as lacking the full CG firepower. Well, I’m pleased to say that time is now well and truly behind us! The London and the Chelmsford studio will be connected via Genius networks fibre for data and phones, with shared servers allowing CG work to be carried out in either location as and when client attendance requires. As the marketplace continues to become more competitive, this pragmatic approach to expansion will certainly allow us to continue with our ethos of providing our clients’ with the industry’s best finishing equipment and full service facilities at highly favourable rates.”

Gavin Lester, Creative Director of Lumiere Studios, added: “Having spent many years working on projects for some of the world’s biggest brands, we have always strived to deliver a bespoke, uncomplicated, premium animation service for our clients, at a competitive price point. More often than not we find ourselves supplying a section of a project, and say goodbye to it when we hand on to the post house. We are really excited about joining forces with Nice Biscuits who not only share the same core values, but more importantly bring the complete production and finishing package to the table. We can now look forward to seeing projects start and finish under one roof.”
