Four Corners: An Exhibition of Contemporary Craft for Etsy

Etsy unites the best of UK craft with an exhibition in partnership with Tent London, the Crafts Council and arts organisations in England, Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales. A diverse selection of contemporary craft from the four corners our country, tied together by the quality of making.

Lead partners: Crafts Council, Contemporary Applied Arts, The Design Trust, Craft Scotland, Creative Scotland, Craft NI, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Helfa Gelf. With support from: Arts Council of Wales, Ruthin Craft Centre and The Makers’ Guild in Wales.

Etsy UK: Four Corners of Craft
Etsy makes its mark at the London Design Festival with a selling exhibition of cross-disciplinary contemporary craft. Supported by arts organisations in England, Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales, this exhibition is the culmination of a maker development project, where selected makers have been supported with professional development from The Design Trust. It will showcase their work and tell their stories.

Ikuko Iwamoto
Ikuko Iwamoto has been making ceramic sculptures for over 10 years. She graduated with an MA in Ceramic & Glass from the Royal College Of Art in 2006. Since then she has won multiple awards for her ceramic works including the Development Award at Crafts Council. For Ikuko’s current collection she has created a range of sea urchin inspired ceramics.

TedWood Design 
Ted Jefferis The son of a classic boat builder, Ted took up studying at Oxford Brookes University, where he began to explore the concept of furniture as a scaled down form of architecture. Ted is fastidious in his selection of wood, and using sustainably grown wood is a simple yet elegant solution to locking away carbon for generations to come.

Jam Furniture Design, Benjamin Cramp
Benjamin Cramp is an industrial designer who creates furniture from wood and steel. After 14 years as a product designer he decided to combine a passion for furniture with sustainability. Ben started his furniture business back in 2013 in Brisbane, Australia and has since moved to Cardigan in Wales. He’s designs components around the timber with the aim to frame and celebrate it.

Alison Lowry Glass
Alison Lowry is a glass artist living and working in Belfast. Alison creates delicate vessels using a mixture of glass techniques including pate de verre, lost wax casting and printing techniques. With a background in textiles she now works predominantly with fused glass but takes inspiration from Ireland's textile heritage. She finds that working with glass offers her endless sculptural possibilities.

McDermott Jewellery, Heather McDermott
Heather McDermott is a contemporary jeweller specialising in stainless steel with elements of silver. Unconventional in size and structure, each piece is an expression of sculptural form and is designed to create a statement. Heather graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 2011 with an MA and BA in Jewellery.
