Adam&Eve/DDB – John Lewis

I don't like the John Lewis ad, I think they've missed the target with this one whereas for once M&S seem to be spot on with Paddington.I don't like the concept of a monster living under the bed, it can be difficult enough to get little children to sleep without implying there are ugly hairy beasts living under you. It probably looked good on paper and gathered momentum from there. Having been a the top of this particular game this in my opinion is a serious stumble.
The M&S ad on the other hand has hooked into the Paddington franchise rather neatly with our hero bear showing a burglar how it should be done. Spirit of Christmas and all that.
The ASDA ad is just plain weird while LIDL and ALDI seem to be much more in tune with the value for money and quality themes.
MY favourite remains EDEKA Weihnachtsclip - #heimkommen that you can find on Youtube. Merry Christmas !
