A Gold and Grand Prix win for FCB Inferno at the APG Awards

Published by

On the 18th October the Account Planning Group Awards took place in the grand setting of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. The awards are a bi-yearly event celebrating the crème de la crème of planning strategies that have resulted in ground breaking communications.

This year’s theme was Strategies of Influence, the judges were looking for thinking that went beyond commercial effectiveness and had created a ripple effect on the real world. A challenging theme that required both a written submission and the authors to deliver a 5 minute presentation in front of a judging panel made up of some of the biggest brains in the industry.

Their Head of Strategy, Vicki Holgate, and Senior Strategist, Nic Willison, were awarded not only a Gold APG, but also the Grand Prix, both for Sport England’s This Girl Can! The APG said that “it is hard to overstate the importance of this campaign and its influence”. The chair of judges, Debbie Klein, spoke about how the competition this year had been fierce. They were looking for thinking that had changed the course of history for brands and businesses. In the case of Sport England’s This Girl Can, they saw this for womankind too.
