Spotlight: 3D artist Elena V Miller's concepts know no bounds

Published by

Since winning a People's Choice award in the Creativepool Annual in 2017 for her Ballerina Loft - which imagines where a ballerina might live - Romanian 3D artist and visualiser Elena V Miller's work has received several Spotlight's on the platform.

Her pieces consist of a mix of renders for competitions and personal projects as she continues to explore and experiment with different production tools to evolve her style.

“My career took a completely different path from the moment I started learning 3ds Max during my degree,” says the artist, who studied illustration and animation at University School of Art and Design in Coventry. “Coming from a background of traditional fine art and graphic design, I now specialise in modelling, rendering, architectural visualisation, interior design and stand/event design."

Miller now runs her own studio, EVNvis, in Milton Keynes where she provides visualisation and creative design services for the marketing and architectural industries. Working across different sectors has allowed her to observe the issue of inequality in the industry.

"0I operate in at least two different industries, marketing/advertising and architectural visualisation, and each has its problems but there’s been a lack of diversity in employment and a huge gender gap. Globally, only seven per cent are women in this profession," explains the artist.

“I enjoy encouraging female professionals to connect, share and mentor each other. I would love to see creative people more united and connected – like what Creativepool is also trying to do,” she concludes. “Let’s not work against each other but with each other and embrace diversity.”
