Who would have thought that the little black beauty with its greasy rubber keys and a power cable more sensitive than Prescott's gag reflex would still have so many fans?
On Thursday, RamJam released this animated video to Richy Pitchs new single Blackstar.
The video charts the journey of a Ghanaian rapper through the trials and tribulations of his life, rendered in the style of an old school, side-scrolling speccy game. The video has already created a lot of excitement with both die-hard Spectrum fans and the hip hop community alike, and has definitely tapped into the hearts of a generation.
The video was lovingly crafted by RamJam (formerly Stringmouse) to promote the song and to showcase their ideas and animation talent.
The most surprising response was the discovery that some ZX Spectrum fanatics have dissected the loading code and even tried to load it into a Spectrum (deciphering the game that the audio tones came from). Hats off to their dedication.
