D&AD New Blood Shift 2019 deadline extended

Published by

D&AD has extended the deadline for applications to its life-changing and career-making free night school, New Blood Shift, to next Monday 26 August.

This year also sees the introduction of a new £10,000 travel and accommodation fund for New Blood Shift London. This includes a relocation bursary for two applicants alongside support on travel costs for everyone on the programme.

The number of students taking art and design at A-Level fell by 1.6% from 2018 to 2019, supporting the idea that more are seeking new and alternative routes into the creative industries.

Less students believe it’s essential to go to university for future success with entrance figures falling by 10% since 2018.

D&AD New Blood Shift is a three-month intensive night school helping young people without qualifications kickstart a creative career.

Led by industry experts, applicants learn valuable skills such as working on real client briefs and selling themselves to future employers through a series of practical workshops, exercises and projects.

Details and entry requirements are available here.
