Catching flight with Wings The Agency #CompanySpotlight

Published by

For this week’s company spotlight, we sit down with Demian Campos, Founder and Chief Creative Officer at WINGS The Agency, an agency opened in the face of great adversity as the world pivoted to a remote working model during the pandemic.

How was your company born and where are you based?

*

In Caracas, Venezuela

What was the biggest challenge to the growth of your company?

The company is located in Venezuela. A country badly hit by the political, economic and human rights situation.

Which was the first huge success that you can remember?

*

Starting out, we won several accounts abroad and it was a key element in being able to operate. Later we won the first Epica Awards for Venezuela.

What’s the biggest opportunity for you and your company in the next year?

From time to time keep the operation stable. We live in a country where the economy is a real challenge.

Can you explain your team’s creative process? What makes it unique?

*

We all crossed paths over several years in multinational agencies and came together to create an independent and remote agency. Everything is based on observation.

How does your team remain inspired and motivated?

It is a team that is naturally in love with creativity. For that reason, we got together.

How has COVID-19 affected your company?

*

Regarding its operation, it did not affect us because we started working remotely since before the pandemic, however, we do feel a tremendous drop in projects due to the global paralysis.

Which agencies do you gain inspiration from? Do you have any heroes in the industry?

We always comment on the work of Marcello Serpa, ALMAP BBDO

What is one tip that you would give to other agencies looking to grow?

*

Teaming up with talent and not skimping on pay will pay you back with a motivated team.

How do you go about finding new clients/business? (Pitching, work with retainers, etc.)

We have a very skilled person in this aspect who is dedicated solely and exclusively to looking for them. We are always invited to show agency credentials.

What’s your one big hope for the future of the industry?

*

That new windows or new media continue to emerge that change the ways of doing creativity

Do you have any websites, books or resources that you would recommend?

We know that the work is hard but there is nothing like being in the street and observing, watching many movies and talking with all kinds of people.
