Annual 2020 FAQ: 7 'Most' Asked Questions About the Annual Awards

Published by

We’re little more than one week away from the final submissions deadline for the creative industry's 'most' award, and as the last round of entries starts to flow in, we are also getting a lot of questions on how Annual 2020 works.

There are several factors that come into play to make up the structure of the award show, and right now you may be asking questions such as: how do I submit my entries? How does the scoring system work? Who is this for? What are the benefits?

Well, sit tight, friend. Here’s 7 things you should absolutely know about the creative industry’s ‘most’ award!

How do I submit my projects?

Here at Creativepool we worked to make the submission process as smooth and easy as it can be. It only entails three simple steps:

  1. Upload your submissions as separate projects on your Creativepool profile;
  2. Navigate to our submissions page and include details about Concept, Execution and Results, as well as project credits;
  3. Submit your entry!

What are the entry requirements?

There really is no specific requirement. The only strict rule for 2020 is that, for work to be eligible, it must have been released to the public in 2019, and it should not be a conceptual commercial project.

As long as your creative project fits into any one of our categories, it will be eligible. Please note we do not currently accept original marble Renaissance sculptures, as we hope you understand.

Will I compete against others in my category?

Nope. Simple as that.

Matter of fact, you will only compete against yourself. Every work will be judged and scored in complete isolation. Individuals do not compete with companies nor with each other.

How does the scoring system work?

Our scoring system was envisioned specifically to facilitate equity and fairness. Our esteemed panels of judges will score your work on a scale from 1 to 10 and, if you score above a certain threshold, you will receive a bronze, silver or gold prize.

Nothing prevents the judges from awarding multiple gold prizes in a single category, so everyone has an equal chance of winning.

How does People's Choice work?

The Annual is the only creative awards show with People's Choice, enabling the Creativepool community to vote for entries.

In addition to bronze, silver and gold prizes awarded by the judges, our special People's Choice award will be awarded by our community of over 300,000 members, who will be able to vote shortlisted works for two weeks in August.

Are the awards free to enter?

Partly, yes!

Some categories are free, such as nominating the Emerging Talent of the Year or the Best Agency to Work For. Others are subject to an entry fee that varies if you are entering work as an individual or a company. The entry fee applies to 1 project per 1 category.

When is the deadline?

Final submissions close on 30 July. There is exactly one week left to enter the awards, so better start working on those entries now! Head on to the submissions page to start filling in all the details now.

If you need any assistance with your entries, feel free to pop us an email and get in touch with the awards team.
