How long have you been a Freelancer for?
About 4 years

Describe your work in one sentence.
My style is often conceptual, ranging from digital art and photo manipulation through to various other graphic design methods.

What's the most important thing you've learnt in your line of work?
Pursue a great concept and stick with it even if it means fighting to make it become a reality. (Oh and don’t undervalue yourself as a creative)

What attracted you to your chosen field?
I loved to create in Art and Design at school and really wanted to pursue a career doing the things I love.

Tell us about your best project to date.
Best commercial project has been creating 3 digital art pieces for Courvoisier’s Le Nez campaign along with the print campaign for Flomax Relief to run alongside their TV commercials.
Best personal project has been creating my ‘stellar’ digital art which I subsequently wrote a tutorial for in September 2011's issue of Digital Arts Magazine.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
I have a versatile range of creative skills and can utilise them to tackle projects from a fully creative area all the way through to a more restrictive corporate field. I’m not afraid to stand up for a creative idea and will actively encourage to pursue the most creative answer to a project brief.

If you could work on any project for any company/organisation, what would it be and who would it be for?
I’d love to work with Ars Thanea or Justin Maller on a photo manipulation/digital artwork for any company.

What frustrates you the most about your job?
When a creative idea is shot down purely because it is “too creative”. Also people who devalue design work.

What pearl of wisdom can you offer to someone thinking about starting out as a freelancer?
Make sure you are in the best position to do so. There is an element of risk ofcourse, but assess the quality of your work against others out there. If you truly believe you can hold your own, then go for it. If you think you need to improve, then identify the areas and make it a priority to improve before going freelance. Remember a good creative NEVER stops learning or developing. If you think you know all there is to know, you’re wrong.

If you could have ONE super power, what would it be?
To teleport to any place or time, instantly.

What's your favourite bit of kit?
Difficult to choose, either my iMac or Wacom Intuos4

Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I won ‘Most improved player' at the badminton club I play for :P

***
What's your favourite song of all time?
Alicia Keys - Fallin'

What is your favourite app?
I know it should be something creative...but *cough* Bejeweled 2 *cough*...

iPhone or Blackberry?
iPhone

Too Cool for School or too School for Cool?
Too school for cool

Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook, well flipboard is just the best way to use either.

Eat In or eat out?
Eat in; love to experiment in the kitchen!

Is the Continued Cultural Relevance of Oasis a Masterclass in Marketing?

As a man who came of age in the 90s, my social media feed yesterday was overwhelmed by the news that, after 15 years apart, Oasis would be reforming for a set of gigs next year. On a personal level, Oasis was always anathema to me. As a awkward kid,...
