Creative Coffee Break: Save time with new tools in Illustrator CC and InDesign CC

Published by

Adobe Creative Coffee Breaks are back. Once more, these bite-sized tutorials make learning new techniques easy to digest.

The first two videos we’ve posted demonstrate how to use new tools built into the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator CC and InDesign CC. Tools that make life easier while giving you  greater control.

As ever, each film features a leading creative expert taking you on a short onscreen journey – to show you how, in just a few small steps, you can make giant creative leaps.

This first tutorial features useful tips from Gordon Reid from Middle Boop Studios as he shows you how to easily create complex colour blends using Freeform Gradients to transform your illustrations. Then quickly edit similar objects across artboards in one step with Global Editing.

In the second video, Gordon shows you how he finds the perfect font and positions images fast in InDesign. Learn how he automatically resizes and fits images using Content-Aware Fit and gets endless typographic inspiration with Adobe Fonts.

When working on InDesign presentations, two of the most important factors are placement of imagery and use of font, so this short tutorial could take your work a long way. If you prefer to learn all about it at your own pace, Gordon also takes you through the same tools in a step-by-step blog.
