John Koay is an Executive Creative Director who is known for having created edible nail polishes that tasted like fried chicken, set buildings on fire with explosives, made a robot animal butt with fake poo coming out, designed a series of exclusive trading cards that got sneaker fans literally fighting for them and much more...

With over a decade of experience that started in Auckland, then Sydney and now Hong Kong he has created globally talked about work at some of the world's most famous agencies: ColensoBBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland, The Campaign Palace and JWT Sydney. He is currently based in Ogilvy Hong Kong in the senior management team managing the creative department and driving key businesses.

He has grown a variety of brands with effective business results and some of these are KFC, Pizza Hut, Nike, Toyota, Panasonic, Telecom New Zealand, Air New Zealand, Qantas, Westpac Bank, Kit Kat, New South Wales Government, and Heineken to name a few...

When it comes to creativity, his work has won at almost every global, regional and local award shows including Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Clio Awards, ADC, Asia Spikes, Adfest, AWARD, Effies, New York Festivals, London International Award, Axis Awards, The Webby Awards and Kam Fan and AMES. He's also awarded others having served as a judge on several award shows.

In 2018, his KFC Hot & Spicy work was awarded the most gold Cannes Lions in the world for any single campaign that year, and was also was accepted into Creativepool's Global Top 100 Influencers of 2017.
