Soft Designer
Job
Jigsaw, a pioneer of the British high street, is seeking a Softs Designer for a 6-month contract to join the creative team at our beautiful headquarters in Kew Gardens.
This is a full-time, 5 days a week in-office role for an experienced designer to own the 360-degree product lifecycle of our soft wovens collection.
The Role:
You will design beautiful, high-quality contemporary collections that stay true to Jigsaw’s heritage of craft and design. This role owns the full end-to-end process, requiring a mix of creative vision and strong commercial execution during this contract period.
Key Responsibilities:
• 360-Degree Product Ownership: Lead the full product journey, including trend research, creative fabric and trim selection, sketching, and launching comprehensive tech workbooks.
• Fittings & Construction: Take full responsibility for regular fitting sessions, working closely with garment technologists to ensure premium silhouette execution and construction.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with our buying and merchandising teams to balance creative vision with commercial viability, range architecture, and critical path deadlines.
• Market Sourcing: Source fabrics and materials that align with Jigsaw's commitment to quality, sustainability, and contemporary elevated aesthetics.
About You:
• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience designing womenswear softs/wovens.
• Brand Background: Experience at a premium, contemporary, or designer-level brand is highly preferred.
• Presence: Ability to work full-time (5 days a week) from our Kew Gardens studio to collaborate dynamically with the wider team.
• Availability: Immediately available or on a short notice period to commit to a 6-month contract.
• Technical Excellence: Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and creating detailed factory workbooks.
• Market Insight: A strong understanding of the premium British high street and the modern contemporary luxury landscape.
About us:
Founded in 1970, Jigsaw was the first premium fashion brand on the high street. Since then, the company has expanded worldwide to work with the finest mills, cutting edge photographers, up-and-coming models and renowned architects. But the search for the best in the industry never stops. As our journey continues, we're looking for passionate and talented people to learn about Style & Truth: a set of values that sets us apart from the rest of the high street, a belief that everyone should feel empowered to embrace their own style, be true to themselves, and not slavishly follow the fashion world. This means putting style before trends and truth before hype.
We pride ourselves on our dedicated and dynamic team and we are always looking for talented people to join us. Come and be a part of Jigsaw.
