Motion Graphics Designer

About the Company:
Arbor makes authentic content possible at enterprise scale -- helping the world's largest organizations capture, produce, and distribute compelling content fast, without sacrificing quality.
We're a team of serial founders, technologists, and storytellers with award-winning backgrounds in documentary filmmaking, scriptwriting, and enterprise marketing. Together, we've built an AI-powered content production platform purpose-built for the communications, marketing, and brand teams inside major enterprises.
Arbor's platform streamlines the entire content lifecycle, giving enterprise teams the power to tell authentic stories at a scale.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Motion Graphics Designer with strong After Effects expertise to support Arbor on an hourly, as-needed basis. This role is highly focused on recreating, adapting, and operationalizing motion graphic templates for customer use within the Arbor platform.
You will work closely with Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Design to help onboard new customers who bring their own existing motion graphics templates - often delivered as MOGRTs or After Effects files - and translate them into reusable, scalable formats compatible with Arbor’s workflows (including Creatomate).
This role is ideal for a motion designer who enjoys technical problem-solving, understands how complex templates are built, and can thoughtfully recreate motion systems rather than simply exporting final renders.
You will collaborate closely with the Customer Success, Product and Engineering, and Design teams to create high-quality motion graphics that elevate our customers’ content and enhance the Arbor product experience.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional experience in motion graphics or animation.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects (required).
- Experience working with MOGRTs, reusable templates, or modular motion systems.
- Experience creating motion graphics for marketing, social media, or product use cases.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to analyze existing motion graphics and accurately recreate them from reference.
- Comfort working with technical constraints and collaborating with product and engineering teams.
- Portfolio demonstrating motion graphics work (required).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with SaaS or technology products.
- Familiarity with video templates or scalable design systems.
- Experience using AI-powered creative and design tools.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams by creating custom motion graphics for new and existing customers.
- Recreate customer-provided motion graphics templates (often delivered as MOGRTs) directly in After Effects, ensuring fidelity to the original design and animation.
- Analyze and reverse-engineer complex motion graphics to understand how they function and how they can be rebuilt for Arbor’s platform.
- Adapt templates for use within Creatomate and Arbor’s video generation workflows.
- Design and configure intuitive controls and parameters so customers can easily customize templates.
- Work with Customer Success and Product teams to determine when templates can be recreated versus when assets should be exported as rendered graphics for upload.
- Support the ongoing build and maintenance of Arbor’s scalable motion graphics template library.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure motion assets meet product, performance, and brand standards.
- Iterate quickly based on internal feedback and customer requirements.
- Ensure all motion assets align with Arbor’s brand guidelines and visual standards.
Perks and Benefits:
-
Fully remote team and engaging remote environment
Work Details:
- 100% remote
- 5-25 hours per week can fluctuate depending on available projects from week-to-week.
- $15-25/hr
Interview Process:
Candidates can expect:
- 3-4 interviews with team members across Product and Design.
- A sample assignment where candidates will be asked to recreate 1-2 motion graphics in After Effects based on provided examples
- 2-3 Reference Checks
