About this role: 

An opportunity has arisen in our customer marketing team for a UK Head of Communications. Joining one of the most exciting retail brands in on-demand convenience, you will own our brand and customer communication - from creative and content, to paid and earned media - to connect with more customers in more of their ordering moments. 

Working closely with the Global Brand teams, you will lead UK brand strategy - elevating and extending our brand into new growth verticals and customer moments. You’ll oversee the transformation of our customer comms - from content and creative to paid and earned media - across Brand, Restaurant, Grocery and Non-Food Retail - engaging customers TTL to drive action. 

From partner and product launches to loyalty programmes and trade activations, you’ll be responsible for converting the customer and trade plan into go to market comms plans, ensuring the right message is served to the right customer on the right channel at the right time. 

The successful candidate will use their passion and experience in building mass market brands deeply rooted in customer insight to drive growth, deploying leading edge creative and media to win hearts, minds and wallets. 

These are some of the key ingredients to the role: 

  • Working with Global Brand to evolve our brand architecture to reflect our broadening customer proposition across Restaurant, Grocery and Non-Food Retail
  • UK brand strategy and go to market plan across paid and earned media, strengthening our brand by connecting with customers through their passions, culture and community
  • Evolving our brand aesthetic and tone of voice to increase customer desirability and appeal, ensuring cohesion across all customer touchpoints. 
  • Leading the team to develop market edge customer campaigns and communications, designed for channel and audience, that drives preference and performance in more customer ordering moments. Driving transformation in both the content produced and how/where we deploy it in paid and earned media. 
  • Paid brand and earned media strategy nationally and locally to deliver against business objectives. Whether it be rapid changes in media consumption or a desire to enhance the personalisation of our comms, it is critical our media strategies are adaptive and reflect the changing nature of the media landscape.
  • Setting GTM communications strategies and plans that address the business growth pipeline, underpinned by customer data, econometrics and creative research, to deliver best possible return.   
  • Forecasting, monitoring and reporting on SOV, competitor strategies and spend. Measuring effectiveness, making commercial recommendations to optimise spend.
  • Leading our paid brand, earned media, and advertising teams and agencies, defining our agency roster. 

What will you bring to the table?

  • Track record in delivering multi-channel marketing propositions from conception to customer delivery in fast paced environments
  • Passion for building brands, developing campaigns and propositions that will delight the customer and deliver business results
  • An eye for media creativity, encouraging media innovation to deliver cut-through in a competitive category
  • Strategic planning capability, including robust understanding of econometric modelling
  • Retail marketing background would be beneficial
  • Managing team of experts and agencies with a wide remit, driving collaboration to deliver integrated communications plans
