Great television is made together.

For more than three decades, I have worked where editorial ambition, visual storytelling, people and technology come together. My career has taken me from a newsroom operating under the extreme conditions of the Siege of Sarajevo, through public and commercial broadcasting in the Netherlands, to one of the world's leading international news organisations in Doha.

I developed within a European newsroom model in which the Director was part of Editorial rather than a final technical link in the production chain. It meant understanding the story, questioning assumptions, shaping its visual treatment and ensuring that script, pictures, graphics and sound formed one coherent whole — while also leading every creative and technical discipline through transmission.

That combination has shaped the way I work ever since. I understand editorial intent, but also what is required to turn it into reality. I can move comfortably between journalists, producers, directors, designers, engineers and technology specialists because I respect their expertise and understand how their decisions affect the complete production.

As broadcasting evolved, so did my work. Linear television expanded into digital, social and multiplatform storytelling, while newsrooms, studios and production systems became increasingly connected. I have helped teams and organisations navigate those changes without losing sight of what ultimately matters: journalistic clarity, meaningful stories and the audience.

Alongside live news, current affairs, sport, documentaries and major international events, I have led newsroom and studio transformations, redesigned workflows, introduced new production approaches and supported people through organisational and technological change. Coaching and mentoring have always been a natural part of that work. I enjoy helping talented people trust their own judgement, develop their skills and perform at their best.

My leadership style is collaborative, direct and calm under pressure. I listen to specialists, ask difficult questions when necessary and create clarity when situations become complex. I am at my best in international environments where editorial ambition, operational excellence, innovation and people development need to move forward together.
