Digital Agency Hitsearch is supporting Alder Hey’s 7 in 10 mental health appeal with a new social media donation campaign

Local Liverpool digital agency, Hitsearch has launched the #Blueforoli social campaign to raise awareness and donations for Alder Hey Children’s Charity latest funding appeal.

Hitsearch has joined forces with the hospital and children’s charity to support it’s new ‘7 in 10’ Mental Health appeal, which is raising money to transform the way mental health services are delivered to children and young people. The appeal was launched by Strictly Come Dancing Judge, Shirley Ballas, after studies revealed 7 out of 10 children and young people who experience mental health conditions have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age.

Tasked with driving donations, Hitsearch, a creative digital agency headquartered in the heart of Liverpool city centre, has launched the #BlueforOli social media campaign to raise awareness of the appeal and its worthy cause. Merging the association between mental health and ‘the blues’ with the charity’s iconic mascot – Oli the blue elephant, Hitsearch has created Facebook profile frames and Instagram compatible GIFs to encourage Instagram and Facebook users to change their profile pictures, post pictures of themselves wearing/using/making something blue and donate to the charity’s appeal.

Those taking part are encouraged to share a picture of themselves ‘going blue’ before donating and tagging five friends to donate and do the same. Andy Redfern, Director of Hitsearch said; “We’re proud to be working with Alder Hey on their latest fundraising campaign. It’s a charity very close to our hearts and the work they do is invaluable. We want our campaign to encourage as many people as possible to ‘go blue’ and donate to the 7 in 10 campaign.”

The funds raised by the campaign will enhance inpatient and community mental health services at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, enabling more children to access the treatment they need at the time they need it.
