An Italian friend of mine once haughtily observed that cropped trousers should not be worn by short people. "It cuts them off", she said. Dutch women are tall, so they don't have that problem. What seems to be a chronic trend, just like HIV was over the world a few decades ago, sweeping the nation, however, is the crop trouser-with stiletto boots- whose -hems just meet the hems of the trousers-look. Sometimes there's even a gap.
I
