About me

I graduated from Middlesex University with a BA (hons) degree in
Design; the course has enabled me to become a conscientious designer
with the necessary skills to provide solutions to the following
disciplines: Graphics, 3D design, video/animation and
photography.

The nature of my design degree allowed me to work independently or as
part of a team. I have gained further experience by working with real
clients in a team for Reach Fund charity to establish their own
identity by designing a website, logo and letterheads. I also worked
independently for Childhood First creating a range of print work
including booklet covers, certificates and adverts that were published
in various magazines. My experience with both the clients demonstrates
my capability to understand the needs and limitations they had. Reach
Fund supports research into cancer and blood disorders where we had to
take a sensitive approach and had to bear in mind the limitations set
by the charity, such as not to use animation, as it could upset
disabled viewers of the website.

Childhood First supports children that are neglected and suffer from
abuse. Their aim was to pass the message of support across in a fun and
childlike way using illustrations but limited colours, so that it
doesn't mentally damage the viewer and passes the message across
showing a friendly approach. The experience I have gained whilst
working with Step Up Mentors has given me the opportunity to be more
creative and free with my work that did consist of a lot of research
and it was quite challenging to design magazine layouts for a teenage
market because it had to be fun but also be able to educate teenagers
on certain issues such as drugs, sex and many other subjects as well. I
feel that I can take up challenges of working with any particular
market to design for.

Working at Net121 enhanced my skills in corporate branding where I was
able to work and keep with their branding for the community websites
and produced different forms of publications that tie in with these
websites such as banners for events, business cards and leaflets.

In Archant life I got to work in a fast paced commercial business which
enhanced my skills in many aspects of print design such as editorial
design, designing advertisements for display as well as classifieds.
The magazines were monthly issues where I had to work with the editor
on a tight deadline and meet it. Also working on advertisements
requires working with different instructions that are either given by
the clients or the sales rep through the copy controller which I was
able to follow through very thoroughly. I have also been able to cover
any other designers work when required which shows that I can be very
flexible and adaptable.

I am a confident user of most of Adobe software including InDesign,
Photoshop and Illustrator.

I would appreciate the opportunity to make significant contribution

through design. I am a fast learner, organised, have a keen eye for
detail with enthusiasm and determination.
