About me

Yonlay Cabrera (CU, 1988) is a Media artist and Motion Designer. Currently he is studying a Master in Media art at Graduate School of Information Design in Tama Art University, Tokyo, Japan. He holds a Bachelor's Degree of Art History from Arts and Letter Faculty of University of Havana, Havana, Cuba. He has made several solo shows and his work has been presented worldwide in events and venues such as Ars Electronica Festival, Linz, Austria; Wifredo Lam Center, Havana, Cuba; New Museum, New York, US and Havana Biennale, Cuba, among many others. He obtained the MONBUKAGAKUSHO: MEXT scholarship, Japan; BIG D@T@! BIG MON€Y! Grant by HALLE 14, Germany; Studio 21 Grant, Cuba. He has been a lecturer in events like Annual Conference on Simulation Technology (JSST 2019), Miyazaki, Japan; International Conference on Micro-Fiction, Kentucky, USA and Havana Book Fair, Havana, Cuba. From 2018 on, he works in collaboration with Meiji Institute for Advanced Study of Mathematical Sciences as a UX and Motion Designer.
