About me
YiVon Cheng grew up in Taichung City in Taiwan. From a very young age, Cheng knew she liked art and drawing, but did not enter art school. She received her BA from the Department of Radio and Television at Chengchi University. A self-taught artist, she applied for an MA in design in Taipei. After graduating, she then worked in animation as a surfacing artist for several years. She was one of the crews of Star Wars, the Clone Wars TV series animation. During this period, she started to illustrate for newspapers and magazines in her spare time. She is now studying for another Master's (MFA) in illustration at Edinburgh College of Art.
Her illustrations were shortlisted in ILUSTRARTE 2018. While studying in Edinburgh, she has exhibited in several group exhibitions. In 2016, her illustration and poem received an honourable mention at the Taipei Poetry Festival. Her animation 'The Thin Moon' was nominated both for the International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy (ISFVF) and the International Student Film Golden Lion Award in Taipei in 2005.
