About me
My name is Yared (Ben) Assefa. I was born in Addis Abeba (Ethiopia). Since my childhood I've been very much interested in art. Art gives me freedom to express easier my thoughts.
I wanted to improve my skills, so I joined Abyssinia Fine Art School in 2007 and got my certificate from there. I love to study and get new experiences, so after some years I joined my good friend's Alem gallery and started teaching art. I was there every summer for six years. It was such a wonderful experience for me! In 2014 I was also an art teacher in saint Teresa school in Addis Ababa for a year. I really enjoy teaching - it gives me so much joy to share my passion with others. So still I give some art tutorials as often as I can.
Most of my paintings focus on Ethiopian landscapes and nature. Many of my works were displayed in Alem gallery in Addis Ababa and some other places. I had a joint exhibition with my friend in Canadian embassy in Addis Ababa, it was very nice experience. I also had my own exhibition "Emnet" in Galeria VA in Poznań (Poland). I paint on the walls in some commercial places and sometimes use my skills volunteering in orphanages.
