About me

I am an award-winning writer and copywriter from England with a grin in my soul if not always on my face. I write for online, print, stage, and screen and hold several diplomas in creative writing from the Open University, London School of Journalism, and shortly, UEA.
A fully licensed nerd, my speculative fiction has appeared in the UK and US at Dark Tales, Simultaneous Times Podcast, Dark Matter Magazine, Sci-Fi Lampoon, and more. I won the QuaranCon 2022 Speculative Fiction Prize for my dystopian short Show Me Your Resume. I also hold a Silver and two Honourable Mention Awards for Writers of the Future in the US and was a finalist for both the James White Award in 2018 and the Val Wood Romance Prize in 2019.
My short comedy Harriet's Melody was performed at the Queen's Theatre in Hornchurch in 2022 and since then, I have been developing scripts for stage and screen. I made the final ten for the Fiction Factory First Chapters prize in 2021 for This House Disagrees and adapted it into a comedy-drama script for theatre and a pilot script for TV. I'm currently working on a pilot TV script for a comedy-drama.

I speak and moderate panels at many conventions including Nine Worlds, BristolCon, Glasgow 2024, Capricon, and more. I am an active member of many professional and community groups including Spectrum Writers, Queens Theatre Writers, and Essex Film Collective.

Away from writing, I try to promote better mental health in society, and in the UK have worked with Mind, Rethink Mental Illness, Samaritans, and Time to Change providing speaking, training, admin support, and communications expertise.
