About me
Having graduated with a degree in Graphic Communications (2:1 BA Hons) I have since been developing my professional experience working for a number of companies as a freelance designer and illustrator. Most recently I have been working on a number of long term projects for Nougat London, an internationally successful cosmetics company which seeks to produce and promote their products through strong design and illustration. Within this capacity I have been entrusted with the control and development of on creative product artworking and labelling. Through this work I have been able to develop my skills, technical ability and creative imagination and having had the experience of working as an artworker I would now love to be given a chance to contribute within an in-house position. Throughout further education I was always aware of benefits of the creative process as presented through good, progressive design.
Since undertaking this Artworker position I have been able to further develop my technical ability and it has become second nature when using the entire Adobe Suite software. In terms of my relevant experience I have always enjoyed exploring the possibilities of good production and publication. I was awarded by the D & AD Student Design Awards scheme whilst at university for a self developed and produced illustrated book and it is through this creative process that I really feel in my element. Having achieved this success as a student and presenting my work at ‘New Blood' exhibition, I was able to undertake a number of illustration commissions which has, in turn, resulted in a further two exhibitions. Following the exposure from ‘New Blood' I began to work on pursuing as many commissions as possible and at this point I started to think about my own long term future and any potential career within design which I might have. I realised that having undertaken a number of design/illustration commissions I would need to develop a consistent and reliable design related position not only to keep my own career aspirations alive, but, also because I believe very strongly in the benefits of keeping abreast of trend and fashion within the creative world. Having continued with the illustration commissions I was asked to contribute to an exhibition in 2010 and was able to gain the working position within Nougat London. This position was working extensively with images and labelling for the purpose of print and POS. I am completely at home using Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator and Dreamweaver and have had experience working with images for print and websites.
I have been privileged to have worked for a number of well recognised companies including EMI, Oxfam and Timberland. But at this stage in my development as a designer/illustrator I would truly relish the opportunity to work as an Artworker within a company environment. I am a very positive, hard working individual with a good eye for detail and strong design.
I hope to hear from you soon,
yours sincerely,
William Clarke
