ANIMATION

Willem Samuel was the Head of Story on the animated feature film Seal Team, which comes out on a major streaming service in November 2021; and he was the Senior Storyboard Artist on superhero TV series Mama K's Team 4, which will launch on Netflix in 2022; as well as storyboarding for TeamTo's Creature Cases, a spoofy mashup of CSI Animal Kingdom and The X-Files, also for Netflix. Previously, he story boarded 2 series of the hit series Supa Strikas, broadcast on Disney XD in over 130 territories. The show was #1 on its channel and time slot in multiple territories, including South Africa, the UK, and Mexico. He has also storyboarded the video-game inspired Moosebox for Nickelodeon; and for the multi-award winning undercover documentary series The World Investigates; as well as for Sunrise Productions.

COMICS

Willem was the Head of Story for the graphic novel Pearl of the Sea, which will be published by France's Rue de Sèveres. His autobiographical novel, Mengelmoes, was published in the UK by Soaring Penguin Press in 2016 to critical acclaim. Previously, Willem Art Directed pan-African comic Supa Strikas, also adapted into an animated series, available in 25 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. His comic work has also featured in zines internationally, including the cult series Bitterkomix, revered for its subversive stance and dark humor; and in cyberspace via the award-winning online anthology Aces Weekly, brainchild of David Lloyd (V for Vendetta, Wasteland, Knight Riader) and Bambos Georgiou (The Real Ghostbusteres, Knights of Pendragon, Spider-Man).
