Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Will and I am a philosophy graduate from the University of Sussex with experience in media and recruitment for marketing analytics. After seeing the advertised vacancy, I would like to apply and find out much more about the opportunity.

I shall explain why I believe I would be a suitable candidate for the role.

My experience has been in fast-paced client-facing roles, being the primary point of contact either on reception when in media, or on certain accounts when in recruitment. In my last job, recruiting for marketing analytics roles, my role involved winning business, and making and building client relationships, as well as consulting with clients and candidates about job briefs, candidate suitability for vacancies or status of the market. Naturally, I had to conduct each call professionally in a polite and informative manner as I was speaking to people at director level. It is through this experience that I became deeply interested in marketing and advertising, especially digital, and after learning that being a pro-active, presentable and warm employee was crucial to being successful in this role, I know how to bring these qualities into a new opportunity. I really enjoyed being active and communicative in my last role and so I know that I would also thrive as an account executive.

In order to hit my targets in my last job, I had to manage my time efficiently, juggling many different things at once. I am also able to meet deadlines, having balanced my most recent full-time job with evening studies in which I am graded on large project hand-ins. I believe I have an appropriate academic background for the role as well; I developed a clear and structured writing style, having to write coherent and logical philosophical arguments for my university dissertations. I also achieved A-grades in GCSE and sixth form mathematics, so am ready to tackle any numerical or data-centric tasks too.

With these skills I can demonstrate, I know that I would enjoy a career in account handling. I believe that I would be a good fit for this role due to my experience and my personality; I thrive in demanding roles, especially in environments with positive and like-minded people. I know from my previous experience that I learn fast and am driven by challenges; I would like to find out much more about the role, the clients and the company atmosphere in order to discover if this is definitely the right opportunity for me.
