About me
I have spent many a time designing things, from small furniture concepts made from card to seeing those small ideas finally come to fruition. Industrial design and contemporary craft strive to achieve two different things, one being for a practical purpose and the other artistic. I've always tried to approach new ideas by bringing these two ideology's together when creating new concepts. They must be practical whilst appealing to the eye.
Being attentive to both creative arenas for design, it was a natural decision for me to attend the university of York St John, where I attained a degree in 3D Contemporary Crafts. This would allow me to look towards other designers, craftsmen for inspiration and see the cultural impact they have on others and the world around them. The city of York is one of artistic culture, thriving with other aspiring designers and artists alike. I have always felt that I've had the advantage of being able to explore industrial design as well as artistic due to the free thinking ideation behind my degree. As a result of this approach, I feel that I have been able to produce a much more diverse portfolio.
