As part of the recruitment and nurture activity for UoP Undergraduate courses the university wanted to issue all prospective undergraduate students who receive an offer a ‘congratulations’ pack. The purpose of the pack is to engage and excite the student about their future experience at Portsmouth.

Concept:
Develop a dynamic, fun and engaging pack – the pack is not about being silly or trivial, but rather convey that a place at the University of Portsmouth has value and prestige. The finished product needed to reflect the University of Portsmouth in tone and imagery, with an emphasis both on its sense of pride and in it really ‘belonging’ to the students who choose to attend there.

Execution:
We worked closely with the print team at Portsmouth to deliver a high quality and innovative printed design solution.

The finished product had a die cut cover and we used foiling on the belly band that enveloped the final pack to add to a sense of quality in the overall execution. The pack was produced with 5 different content versions so that the finished product could be specifically assembled to reflect the course and special interests of the student who had been offered a place. Finished products were further personalised with the prospective student’s name, personal applicant ID information and course details. We wanted to make each and every applicant who had secured a place at Portsmouth to feel special.

Finished packs were 12pp + 4pp cover, 165mm square cut and produced on strong stock, on which we worked closely with the internal specialist print team at the university.

We also produced a digital PDF version of the final product.


Results:
The Pack has been distributed to every student receiving an offer from Portsmouth
