About me
Dear Sir/Madame,
Re: Application for a vacancy as a Human Resource assistant
I am very keen on developing a career in HR having gained knowledge throughout my degree and the experience I gained while working as an administrator within the HR team.
I have more than 3 years admin experience working within an HR setting with Media trust and World write Voluntary Organisation, where I had to take minutes for the meetings, and made sure I used my organizational skills to ensure that all tasks were dealt with efficiently, by prioritising my workload to cope with pressure, within the same post, I had to type documents and answer the telephone at the same time carry out other admin tasks.
While I was at University, I gained knowledge and understanding of Equality & Diversity principles which I took on board, and used while at work to ensure that I put anti discriminatory policy into practice, since I worked with people from culturally diverse backgrounds. I also had to ensure that I dealt with information with resilience and confidence, because the information was sensitive as well as working with integrity. I have strong knowledge on employment law whereby I have the awareness of how it has changed and got updated with some changes on sick pay, paternity, maternity and adoption pay which is due to increase in April, and pension auto enrolment which will begin in October, changes to the employment tribunal procedure and qualifying period for unfair dismissal claims, as well as knowledge on HR practices.
While I worked as a receptionist at an Accountancy Firm called Arram Berlyn Gardner, I had to make sure that I used commercial and good customer services whenever I got in contact with the clients and customers that came to the office, which gave the company a good reputation.
While I worked for the NHS, I used my ability to build relationships, trust, and confidence with all internal and external customers where I dealt with people at all levels where I had to confidently, and professionally liaise with Doctors, Practitioners, Team leaders, Managers, Nurses, Therapists, Support workers and other stakeholders. I developed excellent use of communication skills which included verbal, where I communicated appropriately on the phone with clients ensuring a clear and concise telephone manner as well as face to face when I received clients and customers, non verbal communication skills, where I also had to write documents and reports ensuring good level of situational sensitivity.
While I worked as a Filing clerk, I used my initiative to proactively implement a filing system that made it easy for the accountants to locate files easily, which turned out to be so efficient. As an HR Assistant for Media trust, I had to use my flexibility by multi-tasking, in that I carried out my tasks for that post and other tasks as a PA for the Finance Director, I had to do work as a team member because they were short staffed. While I worked as a Clearing Service Member at the University, I had to pay soo much attention to detail, as I had to input student's details on the University's database with accuracy.
I studied ECDL and IT at University and college in that I gained skills to use Microsoft packages, and while I worked as an admin assistant where I had to type documents, minutes for meetings, reports and make presentations with Power point, and spreadsheets in excel where I had to make charts and graphs, then outlook which I used while sending emails.
Yours Sincerely
Violet Kawere
