I am writing in response to your job advertisement of Experienced Junior to Middleweight 3D Designer for Circle Square. I previously graduated in BA (Hons) Interactive Games Design at University Of Arts and recently worked as a Lead Artist in Colossal Games. I would like you to accept this letter as an expression of my interest for Junior to Middleweight 3D Designer position.
I understand that you are seeking a 3D Designer with 3D Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop, Sketching Skills and someone who can render Mental Ray pipeline. The job requirements captured my attention as I believe I would be the right applicant with these skillsets. I've been using the listed software requirements allocated in the job description for over three years and continue to do so, as I mainly self-taught and shrive to continually expand and improve my multimedia skills. I can work on most phases of the art process and have extensive experience that involves both traditional and modern art such as drawing, painting and digital art. I am highly self- motivated, innovative, adapt quickly to dynamic environments, and work well under pressure; I also have excellent technical and artistic communication skills which is a plus, as I can communicate concepts quickly and clearly to a design team.
I have developed in many ways that qualify me for this position as a 3D Designer. Specifically, with experience as a 3D Artist in both academic and work experience that I have obtained, which gave me a broad understanding of a creative media industry. During the last three years of experience in 3D digital art, I've learnt various skills and techniques using 3D Studio Max. My knowledge in 3D Studio Max have enable me to develop 3D Environments, Characters, Terrains and Organic models with an effective use of low poly budget, as well as high poly. By using Adobe Photoshop over the years, I have learnt and understood the ways to optimise UV's effectively and efficiently to create detailed 3D models from real photo reference and concept art. I've also developed hi-res photo-real texture maps by hand-painting and photo manipulation, as well as using procedural texture map techniques such as Diffuse Map, Specular Map, Normal Map and Height Map for the use in multi-pass rendering.
I am very enthusiastic about 3D Digital Art and nothing excites me more than the thought of working as part of a group of highly skilled professionals on large projects, where I can refine my skills and be inspired by them. I love anything that involves 3D Digital Art or Video Games and believe I would be a valuable candidate for the job, not only because of my diverse background in visual art but my knowledge and passion for 3D Visual Art and Video Games.
I understand that this is a rare opportunity for me as there are not many vacancies available for this role and I am very honoured that I have come across this vacancy. My main objective is to learn new skills and obtain experience during the process to further my career as a 3D Designer and feel proud of the chance to work in a well-established digital Media company that creates 3D visual art. Even though I do not have much industry experience, I am willing to obtain experience from Circle Square to expand it. I will provide Circle Square a broad range of skills, which are not limited to, but includes highly developed 3D modelling ability incorporating product visualisation, 3D Environments, Characters, Terrains and Organic models; and also contribute my wide range of experience in multimedia software's such as 3D Studio Max and Adobe Photoshop.
