About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to introduce my self to your agency. I am an experienced Interior designer with a Degree from an Australian University. I worked for 3 years as a senior designer with a top firm in Colombo, on projects as varied as airline offices, banks, major exhibitions, embassies and shopping complexes. My experience spans through concept designing, design development, presentation of design concepts, materials and finishes selection, furniture and colour selection, 3D Max, CAD documentation, liaison with consultants and suppliers. In addition to projects in Sri Lanka I was overseeing new clients in the Middle East and represented the company in the initial negotiations.

My design experience in Sri-Lanka ranges from corporate to commercial to domestic.

I have a good educational background; I have 2 degrees, the first in commerce and languages from Sri-Lanka and the second in Design from Swinburne University in Australia. I speak and write English to a high standard and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Prior to commencing my carrier as a designer I was attached to Sri Lankan Air Lines as a flight attendant. The exposure I gained through that has been a great advantage for my carrier as an interior designer.

I would welcome the opportunity to have some exposure to the European design market; it is for that reason that I am seeking a post in the UK. I have a number of relations in the South London area, but I am happy to expand my horizons and welcome the opportunity to explore other parts of the country.
