About me
After achieving an Honours degree in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery. I have worked as a self-employed designer and also gained experience working within other designer maker studios, taking on a variety of roles from designing, making, administration tasks and liaising with clients. I recently graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, with a Masters in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery.
I aim to challenge the boundaries of design through the creation of ultra-modern, functional domestic objects. I believe my trademark is my innate ability to re-create traditional items and transform them into compelling, lifelong, contemporary pieces. I achieve this through designing with a theme of simplicity, introducing splashes of bold colour and evoking an instinctive, emotional engagement between user and object.
I hope to continue to work within the creative industries and would like to work specifically within product design for use within the home, the dining environment, within hotels and restaurants.
Skills
I am particularly skilled at designing unique, functional domestic objects for the dining and entertainment sector, for example tableware, cutlery and compelling centrepieces. My work carries a theme of simplicity, quality and innovation, often incorporating more than one material. My role is to give functional objects a very special touch to create pieces, which evoke a defined, authentic connection with your environment. Working with manufacturers and also having practical design and making skills as well as a knowledge of materials and processes. I am also confident in brief creation, styling and presentation.
Sector Experience
I have worked and designed for both one off clients and larger organisations and brands to create bespoke and production pieces. I have worked within product deign for interiors, in creating ranges of products and giftware for retailers and also in creating bespoke pieces for a restaurant brand.
