About me

I do studio work such as illustration, surface pattern design, placement prints, and bespoke trend reporting for brand clients or for licensing (/chanpei). My illustration work centres around themes like nostaglia, whimsy, and playfulness. Prints are conversational and often inspired by nature or the world around me. I am able to create sophisticated work, fun stuff, and lovely kids designs too.
I also do project-based work in strategic creative brand communications (.com) which can involve various mediums - video production, app development, visual merchandising and store experience as well as the typical branding and comms side of things.

My background is eclectic: art, illustration, surface pattern design, trends, visual merchandising, store/ brand experience, creative direction.. as well as copywriting, branding, marketing, PR, custom publishing.
Client consultation work involves various mediums including social, digital/ app, print and video. One of the reasons I have been able to offer such wide-ranging support in my project-based work is that I'm an organised, forward-thinking multi-tasker with creative vision and practical skills. I'm accustomed to working with clients and vendors, managing the vendor relationship for more technical briefs.
I get a kick out of helping people flesh out their ideas, find their path or connect the dots. I am used to working directly for a client, or in line with a team so that they can later take the reins themselves.

By the way, I grew up in the UK, returning to HK regularly. I moved to Hong Kong permanently in 2006. I'm a native English speaker and I speak pretty good Cantonese. I am not at all Spanish, Italian, Greek, native American, or anything else!
