About me

My name is Vanessa Osei-Kwame and I am a recent Business Graduate with a couple years of branding and design experience. I studied Business and Economics at University. One of the Business Modules that I really enjoyed was about how businesses use different strategies like diversification, and branding to hold a strong position in the market. I enjoyed doing research about certain companies and writing reports about their business strategies. This inspired me to get work experience in the marketing industry whereby I gained some valuable Graphic Design and Branding skills. I am very passionate about pursuing a career in Branding and Graphic Design and would enjoy being able to reform company identities in order to inspire and appeal to their audience. I have very strong communication skills, as I have over three years of working in retail Customer Services. Many of the Customer Service roles I had involved me dealing with customer inquiries, making customer announcements; finding solutions to customer problems and building relationships. I believe these skills are essential for this working as a digital designer as I will be expected to understand my client's vision and brand requirements. To do this I would have to build a relationship with the company, so that they will trust and have confidence in our services. As a current Personal Banker at NatWest Bank, I have learned the importance of building relationships and trust with business clients and customers. Working at NatWest bank has made me enjoy building relationships with customers/clients, as every one has different financial goals and situations. This helps me to tailor my services according to what they customer is trying to achieve financially. If I am working with clients in Music, Theatre or Dance industries I will be used to the dynamics of working with clients in different industries. I am a fast learner that can work well in a very dynamic environment and can work very well under pressure.

Additionally I have worked in the commercial industry as a Marketing Assistant/ Consultant at Sainsbury's. My role was to be in charge or arranging the point of sale products and writing up monthly sales reports. Often I would assist colleagues for product promotions at the food stalls, where we would hand out free samples to customers and advertise the products. I was also elected project manager of the 'Back to School' project. I was in charge of organising briefing, making weekly plans of what we need to achieve as a team and making sure my team was meeting their own targets.
