About me
I am a conscientious journalist that uses my initiative and I consider myself a team player. I spent nearly four years working on a local paper where I started as a trainee reporter. I quickly worked my way up to chief reporter where I managed three other trainee reporters among many other responsibilities. I also deputised for my former editor when he was away and when he suffered a heart attack and had to take leave I stepped in and acted editor for six months.
I then move on to become deputy editor for a trade magazine called Comms Dealer. I gained a lot of knowledge from this senior role and experience of working for a B2B publication. The magazine is monthly but stories had to be regularly updated on the website and I also contributed to the weekly newsletter. Therefore I am used to working under pressure and to deadlines. I wrote news stories, features and helped with the production side of the magazine. I also represented the magazine at conferences and events. Recently I worked for another magazine called RadCom as a news and feature editor. In this role I had to liaise with radio amateurs and represent the magazine at rallies. Alongside news gathering and subbing of the magazine.
I am now looking for a fresh challenging role within a company where there will be room for me to grow.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks
