About me

Currently working within the Customer Training Centre at Westland Helicopters Limited creating media in support of computer based, instructor led and web-based integration with Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) courseware. This includes aircraft training programmes and BOWMAN radio systems. All courseware relies heavily on media production to illustrate both theoretical and practical elements of training. Theses range from 2D illustrations to 3D animations including emulation and simulation. In addition the team also supports the Westland Business Development and Public Relations departments to produce media for trade shows and exhibitions.

My role is Media Manager and my activities are:

·Manage a team of around 8 multimedia developers in the development and production of all media activities for training programmes, bids and trade exhibitions

·Responsible for liasing with internal customers, to identify their schedules and requirements and to provide costs for media production

·Provide advice and guidance on processes, design and specifications

·Report on progress, issues, risks and successes

·Research for external suppliers, allocate work packages and monitor performance

·Identify, create and document processes and standards for media production

·Continually review processes and best practices and implement improvements

·Deliver media to the correct specification, time and budget to the Customers

·Allocate work packages within team and monitor performance

·Assess skill requirements and identify training needs if required

·Provide Personal Development Reviews (PDR) permanent employees within the team

·Define job requirements and assess potential employees
