About me

I recently graduated from Northbrook College Sussex in Ba (hons) Communication design with a first and since then have looking for any opportunity to keep working and learning in the creative industry. I have been able to gain experience in two different studios since leaving university in London (Roedelinlannou) and Lewes (Ivy Press). In both placements I was able to keep to tight deadlines and work on briefs for such clients as Barclays Bank. At Ivy Press I was tasked with starting the company's stationery range, redesigning book jacket for a second release and designing a corporate thank you card for clients. I had multiple deadlines to meet and at the end of my time with them was tasked with presenting the whole of my work to not only the creative director but also the managing director of the company ,which I wasn't told about until the pitch. This gave me some valuable experience when pitching my own work, dealing with quick turn around and presenting myself in a professional manner. The book jacket was pushed through to the client immediately after the meeting and was told I would be able to keep expanding my work on the stationery in my second placement. I have a great fascination with everything design, as it is so unique. The fact that the creative industry is constantly changing and offering new and exciting opportunities is something I have always found attractive. There is always something to see, hear, read or watch that can help inform your future work and expand your knowledge. Something that is also extremely enticing about working in this industry is that even in the later stages of your career you can still learn new techniques to help you continually evolve as a designer.
