Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm writing to express my interest in the recently advertised designer role. I believe I could bring valuable skills and experience to your company that would make me an ideal fit for this position.
I have over 3 years experience as Creative Designer, Creative Design Supervisor and Design Manager and in this time I have gained many valuable experiences. As supervisor over a team of creative designers I have been responsible for many tasks including delegating workload and motivating the team. For just over 3 months during 2015 I took on a secondment as Design Manager and was solely responsible for the department and answered directly to other managers and directors within the business. During this period it was the busiest time of year for the company and I successfully kept the department within set lead times for projects and effectively allocated work to members of the team. These experiences have given me the confidence and knowledge to lead a design team, as well as a great insight into how teams can run effectively and how I can work as part of a team to achieve objectives.
During my time at Samurai Sportswear I worked on many high priority client projects, including international and premiership rugby teams, as well as grass-roots and university teams. Throughout these projects I have communicated effectively with account managers, international suppliers, customers and other members of the design team to produce above and beyond what is expected. I have further developed and refined my style and creative skills in both my professional and personal design work. Due to my flexibility and range of skills I was often asked to produce marketing and advertising materials for the company and worked closely alongside the Marketing Manager to fulfill campaign briefs. I have gained strong Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign knowledge, was often asked questions and ran training session on the software for my colleagues. I have a vast amount of experience interpreting design briefs and customer specification to produce a final design outcome.
Throughout my years in education and my working career my creativity and idea generation skills have been key. I believe these skills in combination with my strong software knowledge and positive work ethic make me a highly valuable member of a design team. I am confident that my previous experiences and knowledge will enable me to fit your role and excel within your business. I am and outgoing and confident person that motivates those around me.
