About me
I am a skilled journalist with experience in both the print and broadcast media.
I have completed internships at the Kensington and Chelsea News and at the East London Advertiser. At both papers I researched and wrote a broad range of stories, from a story about a charity run to one about a rail suicide. At the East London Advertiser I gained a front-page byline for my breaking news coverage of a fire that gutted a large building site.
On the NCTJ journalism course at Nosweat Journalism Training I was one of a handful picked to take the news writing exam four months early and learned all the relevant aspects of media law and government. I also gained 100 wpm shorthand.
For Films of Record and Red Earth Studios I found and helped to research stories for current affairs documentaries. These ranged from a film about Saudi Arabian jihadists to one about green energy pioneers. I also wrote detailed pitches to commissioners. On an internship with BBC Current Affairs I worked with journalists on the documentary series the Conspiracy Files.
I am currently writing news and politics features on a freelance basis for publications including Seven Magazine.
I am familiar with Quark and all the main PC and Mac programmes. I also speak good Portuguese and Russian.
