About me
Dear Sir or Madam,
Having worked extensively in book and magazine publishing for most of my career, I am very keen to broaden my horizons and take on new challenges in the design industry. I currently oversee all aspects of the design process within Pearson's International Publishing department, from project and people management, art-directing external suppliers, budgeting and scheduling.
I have particularly strong skills in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and I enjoy collaborating with others. Management and mentorship is an area I particularly enjoy in my work. I recently recruited a new junior designer for Pearson, and I have gained valuable leadership skills, by sharing my years of experience and giving guidance, as well as learning from them.
Alongside my regular publishing design work, I also support other departments at Pearson with their design requirements, which brings variety to my work; for example I create web banners, posters, exhibition material and info-graphics for marketing.
I am confident at briefing and directing a team of creatives and I have an extensive group of contacts in the creative industry who I collaborate with regularly including photographers, developers, illustrators and other designers.
