About me

Dear employer,

I currently work as an Artwork Coordinator for a global pharmaceutical company; creating, amending and controlling implementation of all packaging components for over 300 marketed products.

I liaise with printers/suppliers from around the globe to ensure that all material is implemented at the right time and is correct, taking the product from the development stage right through to the final print.

I am also involved in the creation of some of the marketing materials for the company to use, ranging from sales presenters to brochures, and work with the in-house marketing department on specific briefs when required.

Being a generic pharmaceutical company, highly pressured deadlines are a regular part of the job, with expectations set by the patient and the company needing to be consistently met, often with limited or no notice at all.

Therefore, being able to manage and prioritize my workload is essential.

Although part of the artwork team in my current role, I am also part of the Regulatory department, therefore adhering to strict branding guidelines is something that I have a huge experience of and is integral to the work I currently produce.

Producing my work correctly at the first time of asking is incredibly important, due to the amount of checks that each piece of work will go through before being released on to the market. For this reason I have to be extremely accurate with my work, and have developed a great eagle-eye for detail through this.

I also work freelance for a nightclub in Bristol, where I worked on the bar throughout studying my degree. I now create all of their promotional and marketing material that they require for the club, enabling me to keep the more creative side of my portfolio active.

I use the Adobe Creative Suite 5 on a daily basis, as well as QuarkXPress and the Microsoft Office Suite. We produce all of our designs in Illustrator so am very confident with this program, and although I don't use Photoshop at work, I use it regularly in my freelance work and recently gained an Adobe certificate in the application. InDesign is again a program that I am very comfortable in using as we design all our written work in InDesign.

Please find attached my CV and a small selection of my portfolio.

Many thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon,

Tom Bacon
