About me

Service designer and ethnographic researcher with a background in graphic design and photography.

I have a strong understanding of the design process from research through to implementation, prototyping and testing and am experienced in working within multidisciplinary teams.

My Background...

I have a BA (Hons) in Media Arts from Plymouth University during which I specialised in photography, graphics and popular culture. In December 2009 I completed my Postgraduate MDes Innovation and Creativity in Industry at the University of the Arts London; a multidisciplinary collaboration between UAL and Cranfield University with a strong focus on research methodologies, user centered design, service design and sustainability. Modules covered also included project management, prototyping and a week working with the Samsung Art and Design Institute in Seoul, South Korea.

Since completing the course I have continued in my role at Refined Precious Metals Ltd, which is predominantly a graphic design, marketing and management role for many independent businesses as well as working as a freelance researcher for trend prediction agency Happen and video based ethnographic research specialists Naked Eye Research.

Personal projects have included reducing UK food waste, exploring customer shopping data to improve services and a live social innovation project working with Lewisham Council in an attempt to reduce their very high levels of fly-tipping.
