About me

Throughout my years of experience within the photographic industry I have undertaken a wide range of work. From high key commercial portraiture and fashion, to social documentary and editorial commissions, through to landscape work, still life and product shoots. All of this variety has served to provide me with a unique insight into the different methods and approaches available in completing any given brief.

Having spent many years employed within the commercial portrait industry, I have developed a certain affinity for working with people and have developed a confident, personable approach to all aspects of my work, helping me to make the most of my own practice as well as commissioned work and within employment.

Having had the benefit of being trained to a high level in the utilisation of many different imaging technologies, I am confident in the use of photographic equipment ranging from high end digital such as Hasselblad, PhaseOne and Leaf digital backs to the latest DSLR technology and through to ultra-large format film and alternative processes such as wet collodion. Being able to draw upon all of these different methodologies and their different aesthetic qualities helps to drive me creativley, and to inform my working style.

Through my varied experiences I have developed a highly methodical approach to my photography, working dilligently to attain the high level of quality that I strive to uphold in all aspects of my professional practice.

Having been centred within a studio environment, I am confident with designing lighting plans for both high and low key imaging requirements and in creating dynamic still life compositions. I am fully conversant in the use of Broncolor, Breise, Profoto, Elinchrom, Bowens and Arri lighting systems, and in the use of tethered shooting programs such as CaptureOne. I am skilled in the post production of digital files, utilising Adobe Photoshop CS6, Lightroom 4 and Bridge, on both PC and Mac.

With a first class bachelor's degree, many years of varied photographic experiences and high levels of technical skill, I believe that I could be a very strong candidate for this position. I will look forward to hearing from you soon.
