About me
I am an English Graduate from Lincoln University who has recently completed a intensive T.E.F.L. course in Brazil, and currently employed at Philips Avent Mother and Child Care division, with the intention of developing my career in a publishing/editing direction.
At university I worked on the Student Magazine, editing and proofreading alongside helping with articles to meet deadlines. I completed my degree in English Studies BA (Hons) it was my intention to travel and to gain some experience using my degree - to this end I went to Brazil and spent 8 months there, 4 weeks of which were spent at the Bridge Linguatec School for English as a Foreign Language in Rio de Janerio.
Following this I have returned to the UK looking for work in the publishing and editing industry, finding it hard to get work without directly relevant experience and office/administration work. I took the role as Goods inwards Inspector at Philips in order to gain the professional and administration experience that I needed, and while here have taken a great number of important responsibilities, including the approval of new artwork, problem solving with suppliers, rejection of stock and arrangement of replacements and the control of stock movements.
I am looking for a permanent position within a growing company, with the intention of progressing to the top. I am able to proofread, copycopyedit and take on a variety of different tasks, prioritise my workload and meet tight deadlines.
